
SEATTLE — A total of 2,330 properties entered into some stage of foreclosure in the Seattle metropolitan area in October, a 26 percent decrease from a year ago, according to RealtyTrac, an online foreclosure database.
That 2,330 figure is an increase of 32 percent from September of this year.
Seattle now ranks 111th out of 203 of the largest metro areas in the country in properties in some stage of foreclosure. A year ago it ranked 95th. The lower the number, the higher the foreclosure rate.
Nationally 332,292 properties entered into some stage of foreclosure in October, an almost 19 percent increase from a year ago.
RealtyTrac defines the Seattle metro area as King, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
